It's my sixth year of teaching elementary school and it doesn't matter because the first days of school are always hectic, overwhelming, and exhausting. Besides the fact that I am teaching a new grade, I have to learn the Georgia's state standards/expectations for students and learn a whole new school system at the campus I'm at. Overall things will be great in about a month when I finally have time to plan ahead and get to know things better, but right now the stress is high. I'm very lucky though to have a key to my outside door so I can go to my classroom on the weekends or in the evenings if necessary. Anyway, the kids here are very sweet and friendly. Very southern kids! I caught myself today starting to use the same twang as they do. I guess it's just a matter of time before I do and then I'll really hear it from the people in Texas. I wanted to post some pictures of what my day looks like now and the kiddos I'll be around for the next 178 school days. Then I have to work on grouping kids tonight in order to have it all together before Monday morning. :-)

I am happy that your new world is taking off. Your classroom is looking wonderful and so educational. After all some of that was from Texas!! I really do wish you all the best and will keep up with you and your class. Looks like you are becoming just a little PEACH! Better get rid of that SUNFLOWER! Love you and hope that you are doing peachy!
